This week I will experience a few ‘bucket list’ moments, including meeting the first lady, prime minister of India. But life decided to hand me a few obstacles that make those moments seem so unimportant.
This started my day on a good note – research by First Round Capital found that companies with female founders performed 63% better than all male teams. Yet, from 2011 to 2013, only 15% of companies receiving VC investments had a woman on the executive team.
A recent study commissioned by Dell named the U.S. as having the most favorable environment for women entrepreneurs. However, it also identified the significant gender barrier that still prevents them from reaching their full potential.
